Why Use Technology in Education?

Let's face it . .. technology is expensive. We struggle financially to provide our students with the tools they need to learn. We write grants, we lease computers to spread the costs over a period of time. Why do we do it? Why do we use technology to educate our kids?

This article, from Techlearning.com, outlines "Nine Excellent Reasons for Technology in Education."

As John Post writes, "In summary, if education is about knowledge and intellectual skills, then information technology lies at the heart of it all. We have only just begun this transition. School will eventually look very different. Get ready."
Our own high school will look very different if we are able to implement "Classrooms for the Future." Laptops, whiteboards, projection systems, scanners, digital cameras, videocameras . .. students at KHS will experience education on a different level. Get ready!

Did the author leave out additional reasons for using tech? Do you agree or disagree with his reasons?
