A "Dia de los Muertos" Project

Students in Senora Patton's Spanish II classes are immersing themselves in Mexican culture as they research the Dia de los Muertos ("Day of the Dead") celebration. They are gathering quality information from both Internet sources and books and writing their stories as though they are actually taking part in the annual festival. Students will then compile pictures and design their storyboards. Finally, they will construct a digital movie using free Microsoft Photo Story 3 software, using their own voices to narrate their stories.

The students will also make an authentic craft item or prepare a typical food for the class to sample as they conclude their Dia de los Muertos celebration.
