"One-Hour PowerPoint"

David Jakes and Dean Shareski shared 10 strategies for creating more effective PowerPoint or Keynote presentations during a workshop at NECC 08. View their podcast on The Apple Learning Exchange. Believe me, if you require your students to prepare slideshows, you owe it to yourself to spend the 45+ minutes to watch the podcast. Follow Jakes' and Shareski's classroom-tested strategies, and you'll never again have to sit through period after period grading kids as they read bullets to you!

I admit that I learned quite a few new tricks. For example, did you know that if you type the letter "B" while showing a slide that the slide will turn black? Typing "W" turns the slide white. What a great way to get your audience to focus on what you're saying.

Also, check out Jakes' wiki to which he refers in the podcast for more tips and resources!
