New Smartboards Installed

Ten new Smartboards were installed at KHS yesterday, courtesy of our Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) grant. Seventh and eighth grade teachers of math, science, social studies, reading, and English will find the new equipment when they return to school next week for our in-service days.

On Wednesday, we've scheduled a full-day Smartboard training conducted by a tech integrator from SmartEd Services. Our junior high teachers will have the opportunity not only to learn the ins and outs of the interactive whiteboards but will also have time to collaborate and begin designing lessons to take advantage of the capabilities of this exciting new equipment!

After we get our additional CFF equipment for Grades 11 and 12 early this fall, all core subject classrooms in Grades 7-12 will have a ceiling-mounted projector and an interactive whiteboard. We are so fortunate to be able to apply for grant dollars to purchase equipment that our poor rural district could not otherwise afford. Now we have to find a way to get comparable equipment at Keystone Elementary.

Our students are very fortunate to have teachers who are so willing to work hard in order to move their instruction into the 21st Century. I personally am blessed to work with colleagues who don't run away when they see me coming with another bright idea for them! Keystone teachers rock!
