A Room with a View

Get your students involved with the "A Room with a View" online project! Pre-K to 6th grade students worldwide are invited to take pictures of the scenery outside their classroom window at various times during the school year. The pictures are then posted on a wiki or other web site, along with some writing about the scenery in the pictures, to share with other project participants. The writing should include the date, time of day, weather description, and temperature. The teacher can choose to partner with another classroom with which to collaborate, although this isn't a requirement. Visit the "A Room with a View" wiki for details.

Get out those digital cameras and let your students show off the beautiful landscape outside of your classroom. And give them the opportunity to experience what their peers see outside schools around the country and around the world. Graph dates and temperatures to compare weather . . . I'll bet you creative elementary teachers can think of dozens of cross curricular extensions for this project!

Keystone teachers, I would love to help you set up a wiki and post to it.
