Technology and Nature Combine for a Great Learning Experience

Keystone's 7th graders took their annual trek to the nearby Beaver Ponds on a beautiful October day for hands-on activities that integrated technology, the curriculum, and nature. The students used handheld computers with GPS devices for geocaching activities, with science probes for water testing, and with digital cameras to capture their day in pictures. The computers were obtained through a Hands-on Learning Grant several years ago.

The students also completed reading and measurement activities as well as soil tests. In addition, they will write about the photographs they took when they return to their English classes.

Despite some mud, a bee sting, and at least one soggy sneaker, we had a fun and educational experience!

Enjoy the pictures below.
