Groundhog Day with Robin Moore

Students in Erin Zacherl's kindergarten class learned all about groundhogs and other Pennsylvania animals this morning when they participated in a special Groundhog's Day webinar presented by author Robin Moore. The students used Elluminate web conferencing software, the Internet, and their new projection system to join the webinar along with over 100 other classrooms across the state. The webinar was sponsored the the PA Department of Education.

Robin Moore is an award-winning author and storyteller who grew up in and still lives in the mountains of Pennsylvania. He comes from a long line of storytellers. He has actually visited Keystone Elementary in the past to share his stories and books.

Unfortunately, Megan, one of the kindergarten students, informed me that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning, which means six more weeks of winter! Will we ever see the grass again in Clarion County? (On a side note, Phil's prognostication was pretty much overshadowed today in western Pennsylvania by the Steelers Super Bowl victory!!)
